Who we are
Quivr is a surfboard discovery and social app operated by Socialbounty LLC (“Quivr,” “we,” “us”). Contact: alex@quivr.surf. Website: quivr.surf.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Quivr, we may collect:
- Account info — email address, display name, username, and sign-in identifiers from Apple or Google if you use those providers.
- Profile — bio, home town/break, ability level, height, weight, and profile photo (if you add them).
- User content — quiver boards, reviews, session logs, posts, comments, photos you upload, and comparisons you save or share.
- Social graph — who you follow, who follows you, likes, and blocks/reports you submit.
- Fitness connections (optional) — if you connect Strava, we store connection status and the import preferences you choose. When you confirm an import, we may pull activity details you enabled (for example duration, location name, distance, temperature, calories, or heart rate) into a Quivr session. Fitness tokens are stored server-side; we do not sell this data.
- Device & usage — app interactions, screens viewed, crash/diagnostic signals, and a device push token if you allow notifications. We use PostHog for product analytics.
- Support — messages you send us by email or feedback tools.
How we use information
- Provide and improve Quivr (accounts, feed, discover, quiver, comparisons, notifications).
- Personalize board discovery and size guidance from profile details you share.
- Import surf sessions you confirm from a connected fitness account.
- Moderate the community (review reports, enforce blocks, remove abusive content).
- Understand product usage and fix bugs.
- Communicate about the product, security, or support requests.
- Comply with law and protect Quivr, our users, and the public.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run Quivr:
- Other users — content and profile details you make public (or share with followers) appear in Quivr.
- Service providers — Firebase (Google) for auth, database, storage, cloud functions, and push; PostHog for analytics; Apple/Google for sign-in; Strava if you connect it; email/ops tools we use to run support.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Your choices
- Edit or clear most profile fields in Edit Profile.
- Choose which Strava fields import, or disconnect Strava anytime.
- Make individual sessions private when logging them.
- Delete your own posts, reviews, and sessions in the app.
- Block or report other users and content from their profile or posts.
- Delete your account in Edit Profile → Delete account (or email alex@quivr.surf). Deletion removes your profile, quiver, reviews, comments, sessions, and uploaded photos associated with your account.
- Turn off push notifications in iOS Settings.
Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active. After account deletion we remove personal data from our primary systems, except limited records we may retain for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or backups that expire on a normal cycle.
Children
Quivr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact alex@quivr.surf and we will delete it.
International transfers
We use U.S.-based cloud providers (including Firebase and PostHog). If you use Quivr from another country, your information may be processed in the United States.
Changes
We may update this policy. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app or on the site when appropriate.
