What size surfboard should I ride if I weigh this much?

Start with liters for your weight. Then pick the stock size of the actual board. A 5'10" Hypto and a 5'10" longboard are not the same answer.

By the Quivr team · Published

Quivr uses the same starting point in the app. Weight in kilograms times a liters-per-kilo number: 0.60 if you are newer to hardboards, 0.46 for an everyday intermediate surfer, 0.40 if you are advanced. That number is a starting volume, not a length, and not a promise.

Starting volume by weight. The model pages below turn a row into a stock size when the chart has one close enough.

Boards people open most

The 30 boards opened most often in Quivr. Each page answers “what size should I ride if I weigh this much” from that model’s stock chart when the catalog has one.

Three popular boards from every brand

Shops that print “or less” on a size chart use a wide band. Quivr names the stock row whose liters are closest to the starting volume, and only when it is within about 10 percent. If the catalog has no volume chart, the page says so and does not invent a length.

Wave fit still comes first. A board that wants overhead surf is the wrong board on a knee-high day no matter the liters. Read what volume actually means, then the size chart for the model.

Check it on the board

Open the same board in Quivr. The size pick uses this chart and your weight. The wave range on the card still has to fit the days you actually surf.
